New Year Resolutions

Another year has passed by, and a glorious new year is around again. It is that fun time of the year where everyone is mighty excited to put on the party hats and have an elating time. And along shall come more memories and joyous times. But one integral part of every new year celebration, is the resolutions that we make. Here are a few things that you might want to consider as your this New year's resolution. Have a great new year.

Quit Smoking:

This new year, give up your addictions and choose to lead a healthy life. Although, it is not an easy task to lay off smoking, with determination and support one can certainly do it. Stop hanging out with your friends while they smoke, as it can get very difficult to resist then. Also, take serious efforts to kill the urge to smoke, when alone. You can probably do this by eating chocolates or any food that you relish, this way you won't really want to kill the taste you love for something that can actually kill you in the long run.

Get In Shape:

Weighed down by your weight, in the social world? Looking to lose out some pounds. This, many believe, is the most common new year resolution that people make and also the most common one that they break. To stand successfully by this resolution, you need to show serious dedication and patience. As the results and effects of your physical training and well-planned diet take time to reflect on your body, it can get a bit pesky to keep up with this resolution. All you need at such times, when you are ready to break your resolution, is motivation. Keep yourself pumped up and focused to get back in shape. It is also quite important to realize that there are no shortcuts to good health. Take proper advice and work smart towards it.

Save More, Spend Less:

Feel a financial pinch at the end of every month? It is never difficult to save more, but it is also never easy to spend less. Financial stability can only be achieved when both these things are in a good sync. Avoid spending on anything and everything that you see around, instead grow up and spend smart. Make a list of items that you bought during your latest shopping spree, and analyze by yourself, if all the things you buy are of utmost need to you. This way you will not only learn about what to spend on and what to avoid, but also keep a tab on your expenses. Remember, if you regret spending after buying things, you are an impulsive expender. Control your impulse, stay alert.

Dedicate More Time To Family:

If you are working day in day out to help your family with luxuries and comforts that you think would make them happy, then all you need to do is think again. You may choose to gift them all the materialistic joy around, but your presence alone can bring a true meaning to it. Although, this resolution and its successful completion highly depends on your profession and age, one thing that goes for all is that no matter what you are searching for in the social world, there is no place as beautiful as home. Plan out your projects, meetings and appointments well before time, take efforts and initiations to make outdoor plans with your family and try to spend quality time with all of them. Also, let your family members know about this resolution, they will certainly be of great help.

Read Atleast Three Books A Year:

Books, as many believe, are not only the most entertaining source of education, but also the most educating source of entertainment. Books can be a great way of bursting out the stress that comes with your day to day routine. If you are used to reading, you should know what genre of books interest you and hence choose accordingly. If you are not a regular reader, take time to see what manner of books appeal you. This is quite important, as people generally go on to read the latest best-sellers around, irrespective of their own interests and later find it too boring to get done with. Such an experience can really kill off your positive buzz to read books. So, rather than strictly reading three books this year, it is better you read one book but with a sincere eye and interest.

Learn A Musical Instrument:

Music connects us all. You will meet hundreds of people sharing this resolution with you, who would love to learn guitars or drums or any musical instrument. But, most of them lack the true drive and passion that is the primary need to enjoy the learning phase. And although, you might think you have that drive, unless you are really dedicated and focused to learn, think again. Choose an instrument that you think you will be good at, considering all the factors that you can. For example, a person with respiratory problems should avoid to play flutes and trumpets, and instead choose guitars or bass or keyboards. But once you start to learn, you need to show sincere efforts and dedication towards it. Nothing comes easy, certainly no talent.

Get In To A Relationship:

Looking for someone to make you feel special? Now, this resolution is the easiest to get done with and also the most uncertain one, obviously depending on what you are looking for, just a minor fling or a serious thing. As getting in to a relationship involves two individuals, and unless you know someone who shares this resolution with you, you really need to be quite social and optimistic throughout the year. One important thing to keep in mind however, is that do not indulge in to any manner of relationship just to get in to one. Stay calm, positive and kind when interacting with others. If you have had a series of unsuccessful affairs before, analyse the reasons for their failures, do not go in much details though. Do not over-think about this one and it will certainly happen. Be yourself.

Learn A New Language:

Looking to brighten up your vocabulary? Nothing helps like learning a new language. But the choice of language to learn will surely differ with your reasons to learn one. Take some time before you decide your language of interest. This way the process of learning will be a rather enjoyable experience for you. Make a choice considering your career options and future plans. Learning a new language each year may sound easy and confidence boosting, but every language needs constant practice and exchange of words. So keep up with that, also make it a point to read a book or novella which will keep you interested and updated with that language.

Control Temper:

Losing out friends, because of the losing temper? Learn to guide your boiling emotions of fury, simply because there is no glory on the angry lanes. Anger brings no good, never has and never will. Only thing that comes with it, is a rise in your blood pressure and lows in your life. Learn to control your temper, and although you must have tried to do so many a times before, may be you lacked a strong drive or a proper reason. However, the point is, if you really love yourself or care for the ones you love, it is only wise to let go of your burning temper. Develop an attitude to turn inert, even when provoked. Share your resolution with everyone around, this way even they can help you get over your troubling temper.

Keep Up With The Resolutions:

Out of all the above mentioned ones, you have to agree that this one is the most important. And not because it will help you in life in any way, but only because, if broken, it will cost you many a things in the long run. The purpose of every resolution is to bring upon a change, a good change, an improvement of some manner. But many, in fact most, often fail to walk the new ways and end up breaking their new year resolutions, only to make a new start to their old habits. It is important to understand, every resolution is like a stand that you take against something imperfect about you, and a successful completion of any resolution is solely beneficial to you and you alone. And if you are a rather sentimental person, remember, a resolution is like a promise you make, not to anyone else, but you.
