While organizing a party for the kids, it's very important that the entertainment factor is in place. You have to have a lot of ideas to keep them busy and engaged or else kids tend to get bored pretty soon. Here are some game ideas for a kids' party.
Musical Chairs
Musical chairs are a big hit in kids' parties. Keep chairs in a circle, their seats facing the outer side. The number of chairs should be one less than the number of kids. Play the music while the kids walk along the chairs. As soon as the music stops, the kids have to grab a chair. The one who is left without a chair leaves the game. One chair is removed after every round. One who finishes last with a chair wins the game.
Blind Man's Buff
One kid is blindfolded and left in a big room. Other kids run around the blindfolded kid and he has to catch any one. The one who is caught becomes the blind man for next round.
Chinese Whispers
All the kids sit in a circle. One kid whispers something in his neighbor's ear, now that kid whispers the same thing to the one sitting next to him and so on. The last kid has to say the same sentence loudly to everyone. The fun part is that the sentence gets jumbled up in the process and is completely altered in the end. Humorous sentences make the game more interesting.
Eye Spy
This game is best to be played in a garden or an open space where there are places to hide. All the kids hide except for one who has to find them.
What Color You Want
In this game one kid calls the name of any color he likes and the rest of the kids have to find and touch that color before he catches them.
Passing The Parcel
Make paper slips of different activities that kids can do like singing, dancing etc. Put these chits in a box. Now make all the kids sit in a circle. Play some music and pass the box around. Just when the music stops, the kid holding the box will have to remove a paper slip and perform the activity written on it.
Pinata
Take a pinata and fill it with some goodies. Hang it in an open space and ask the kids to hit it with a stick one by one. Whoever breaks it first gets all the stuff in it.
Dumb Charades
Make teams of two or three kids. Give one member of the team, a name of a movie or a word which he has to explain his partners through actions and they have to guess the name of the film or the word.
Pin The Target:
Draw a large picture of an animal and place it on the wall. The kids will be blindfolded and they have to pin the tail of the animal at the right place. The kid that pins the nearest to the target, wins.
You can also organize different races for kids if you have an open space. These games will definitely keep them on their toes.
